CME Program:
Pain & Symptom Management
Presented by Jason C. Libby, NP, ACHPN
Nurse Practitioner, Hospice of Southern Maine
Clinicians and non-clinicians alike are often called upon to help patients and families understand the interplay between the physical impact of the disease process and quality of life/comfort. This discussion provides basic education that will allow a learner to support their patients and their caregivers during the advanced and end stages of disease through end of life.
In this presentation the five common symptoms experienced by patients at end of life and basic management steps are discussed. After you’ve completed the activity the learner should be able to name the most common symptoms, how they affect quality of life, and basic management strategies, including medication management.
Details are given at the beginning of the video for how to claim 1 CME credit hour for viewing this program.
